Veteran and Career Coach Receives Nod from Local Community

The dedication and drive of Jason Madden, a veteran and career coach for The Entrepreneur’s Source®, impacts his local community and helps budding entrepreneurs discover a rewarding future.

Shining Star
Madden recently garnered The Albuquerque Business First’s 2023 40 under 40 honor. Each year, the magazine honors young individuals who go “above and beyond” in their careers and communities. The award highlights how young professionals are achieving success and making philanthropic contributions in New Mexico. This year’s success stories spanned diverse industries, including foodservice, real estate, healthcare, and nonprofits.

“It was an honor to get nominated by my local community,” Madden said. “Albuquerque has a diverse and growing economy, and it’s an economic hub for various industries. I’m honored to be involved in helping build the city’s economy. I love what I do and strive to make a positive impact on the people I meet every day.”

Providing Options, Possibilities, and Dreams
As a Career Ownership Coach™ with The Entrepreneur’s Source, Madden helps people at a crossroads in their careers discover a new path. He uses our education-based tools to help people determine their goals to find a way forward. Madden acts as a guide as they explore other corporate opportunities, starting a business from scratch, or partnering with an established brand to achieve self-sufficiency and financial freedom.

“I was exploring a future in fitness when I reached a point of clarity. I was trying to turn my passion into a job,” Madden said. “My coaching business allows me to help people and veterans explore business ownership and discover ways to achieve their financial and lifestyle goals.”

As part of his commitment to serving veterans, Madden provides guidance as they transition to civilian life. He has spent the past five years volunteering for Veterati, which provides mentoring services to veterans and their spouses who are unemployed or underemployed. He also conducts Military Transition Assistance Program employment and skills workshops through the U.S. Department of Labor and the Department of Defense.

“Veterans make great business owners because they have the tenacity and grit to get their businesses up and running,” Madden said. “Partnering with an established brand enables them to follow a system, which is part of their military training. People who served in leadership roles in the military spent their careers sharpening the skills they need to run a successful business.”

The Entrepreneur’s Source helps bridge the gap for veterans exploring their next step as they finish their military service.

“Many veterans struggle to find their footing after they leave the military. They’re scared and want sustainability. Our process helps them do the analysis,” he added.

Jason’s experience in working with other veterans to explore opportunities in business ownership was featured as the cover story in the July edition of Franchising USA Magazine.

Decorated Military Career
Madden started his coaching career in 2018 after spending 16 years serving his country in the U.S. Army and Marines. He joined the Marines as an infantryman shortly after the tragic attacks on 9/11. Fueled by a desire to preserve our democracy and the American way of life, the Marines taught Madden the fundamentals of teamwork, leadership, safety, and quality. He served as an infantryman and was deployed to Fallujah, Iraq, where he participated in Operation Phantom Fury, one of the deadliest battles of the Iraq War, with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment.

After sustaining a leg injury, Madden left the Marines to heal. He returned to the military and joined the Army, where he served as an infantry team leader in Hawaii. After another deployment to Iraq, Madden held positions in counterintelligence in Italy, Qatar, and Colorado.

During his time in the service, Madden received two bronze stars for combat actions and served as a chief warrant officer.
