Franchise Friday podcast episode 198 host Melissa Pang speaks with Brian McNamara of The Entrepreneur Source
Meet Brian McNamara: My role is to coach individuals who are experiencing a career transition and interested in new challenges different than those that they have known. For many of my clients this includes the possibility of self-sufficiency through business ownership. I also work with people who want to develop additional sources of income.
Brian was born and raised in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. Since graduating from university he’s lived in Rochester NY, Pittsburgh, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and “Sunny” Philadelphia but has made Frisco, Texas his home for the last 20 years. He’s married to Suzette Walters and has a stepdaughter, Savannah.
Brian graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Business Management and Economics.
From there he started his career in retail as a Buyer for May Company Department Stores. In 2000 he was recruited to lead merchandising and planning for a Paul Allen funded e-commerce music startup, zZounds.com. Since leaving zZounds Brian has been managing multibillion-dollar businesses for major retailers including JC Penney, GameStop and Burlington Stores. Today, after nearly 30 years of corporate life he’s found his passion helping others make their personal and professional dreams become a reality with The Entrepreneur Source.

Reasons to Invest in a Tumbles Franchise
As a member of the Tumbles family, you can build a profitable franchise business while fighting childhood obesity, challenging young minds and bodies, and making a difference in your community.
Our dedicated team has 60+ years of combined business expertise and 30+ years of combined experience as Tumbles franchisees. While our team comes from varied backgrounds, we share a common passion for enriching children’s lives and helping owners build a profitable franchise business.
According to Melissa:
We talk all the time, with our franchisor members and with our coaches, about how collaboration is the most important communication piece. The franchisor, working with you as the coach, and working with the client on their timeline. Often the franchisor, especially, want to move quickly and you are there to manage the pace for a successful outcome for both. The franchisor talks to you and says, hey, this is what we’re thinking, and you’re like, you know what, no, my client can’t right now. And then the franchisor is okay to say, that’s fine, let’s hold off. You are there to also manage the pace. That’s why I think the coach is so valuable. Being able to speak with the franchisor and with the client to make all the pieces come together. That’s a huge differentiator of The Entrepreneurs Source and our coaches.
According to Brandon:
My client, Sophia, was so highly engaged and wanted to move so quickly, I was tapping the brakes. Yeah, I wanted to make sure that she was doing all the necessary homework, spending time with the franchise and learning about the model, making sure that it was something for her versus just, I’m tired of what I’m doing. I want to open a business by the end of the year, or at least make the investment. I think I gave her credibility for the journey, versus Hey, how fast can we move you through. The more she learned, the more she became engaged, and the more interested and I think ultimately, that was a big part of the success. During this time, keep in mind, she was also having same conversations with a completely different franchisor in a different industry. It was complementary industry with some type of the health care aspect to it from the standpoint of in-home Senior Care. And that’s why also I said, “let’s make sure you have ample time to do the research and have the conversations that need to happen. They were trying to move a little quicker than I appreciated. With my coaching, my client was able to have the time to make the right choice for her. I’m the coach who focuses on quality versus quantity and the clients that show up, they get 100% with me all the time.
